SBP receives $2.3bn from Chinese banks, confirms Miftah Ismail

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail Friday announced that a Chinese consortium loan of RMB 15 billion (roughly $2.3 billion) has been credited into the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) account, increasing Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves. Rupee finally snapped its losing streak against the dollar

The rupee finally snapped its losing streak against the dollar on Wednesday, gaining Rs1.80 in early morning interbank market a day after the government secured the much-anticipated deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
