World Bank approves $149.7m for Pakistan’s digital and flood resilience projects
The World Bank’s Board Of Executive Directors has approved financing of 149.7 million dollars for two projects of Pakistan, “digital economy” and “flood prevention”.

78 million dollars have been allocated for the digital economy enhancement project, which will improve the financial system through technology and data-based decision-making.

Through this project, digitalization of government institutions will improve economic efficiency, coordination and transparency.

Supporting a growing digital economy in Pakistan is key to economic and social development. 71.7 million dollars has been allocated for the Indus Barrage Improvement Project to ensure flood protection.

The project will increase the resilience of the Canal System and reduce the adverse effects of severe flood and drought events. Special Investment Facilitation Council is committed to finding technology-based financing solutions to attract foreign investment in the country and to strengthen itself against the calamities caused by environmental pollution.
